A general statement and some more views

Since I was abroad (in the U.S) for the whole season, I won't make up my own highs and lows, but I will comment on some of the ones listed in the"1998 in review" article.

The biggest low mentioned has to be Kolbotn not even bothering to travel to Nidaros. That is pathetic. The Domers travelled 3 times to Oslo last year, and then the Kodiaks don't even bother to travel once outside the eastern parts of Norway. I've been out of touch with the Norwegian Football scene for about 2 years, and I have to say I'm dismayed by the attitude shown by certain teams around Oslo.
The Trolls, Vikings, Lynx and Larvik Lions showed a different attitude in the earlier years. They showed up for all their away games as far as I can recall. If this is a general change of attitude in all the teams in and around Oslo, then we should all sit down and seriously consider how important it is for us to have teams in different parts of Norway. One can NOT applaud every time a new team enters the league, and then refuse to travel to the team's homefield when it's your time to play 'em.
Well, hmm, I didn't mean to digress that far. Back to the "1998 in review".

I'm kind of...hmm, how should I put it...the article leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to quitters, and the author's view on his friends (or former friends). The author writes "...I am more aware of what kind of people our society breeds today: Quitters." I have to say that this statement was made in a state of anger. Because if this is the general attitude of the author towards the general population, then maybe that is the reason why people quit. I believe that people has to understand that different players have different priorities, and even though I do agree with the author when it comes to who should get to play the games, and who shouldn't (practice time = playing time), one should not judge a person by his interest/dedication to American football and to his team.

I also have to say that the I tend to agree with the author's judgement on the RB travelling from city to city. If he lies, then that indicates something about him as a person. But the main RB, (the squash socializer) merely shows that his priorities are not the same as those of the author.

I will here point out that I do not know any of the persons mentioned in the article, I am just trying to use the author's statements in a more general way.

Thank you,
